LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT:

It is with deep regret that I must turn down the nomination for President for the next term. I have several family, work and health issues that require a great deal of my time, and I will not have the needed time to devote to the office.

I want to thank everyone for their help and support over the years and helping to make MDKC a club to be proud of. I have enjoyed working with all of you and could not have ask for any better support than I got from the board and membership.

I would hope that you show the same consideration and helpfulness to whoever you elect as your next President. I will be remaining on as a show chair and a very supportive club member. I will not be at the September meeting, but look forward to seeing everyone in October.

I hope all had a wonderful summer, and I think we have another fantastic year to look forward to.

 A CHAT ROOM MESSAGE

FROM FRAN BROWN:

We have had several requests for a chat room for our club. A temporary message board and chat room up for the club has been set up with a monitor on a limited time basis. If enough members use the club and we may decide to keep it up and running. For now this is our test site. This site will be for MDKC members only during the trial phase. Please respect others feelings when in the chat or message area. If you feel you have been harassed please copy whatever the statement/s were and forward to the room monitor, she will be listed in the members list. If the harassment's proves to be valid
the person or persons causing the problem will be banned from the room. Also anyone making complaints that cannot be proven will also lose the room privileges. We have a non member who was kind enough to set this up for us and help us use it, so please don't send emails and questions. The room is very easy to use. The site has a message board, where messages can be left for the club members, such as up coming events, or any news about new dog diseases etc. There is a button to enter the chat room. Whenever 2 or more people are logged in, the chat room will be open. I would suggest everyone that's interested gets a nickname and password and goes in to check out the site. I believe it is also set up that each member may have their own page to display wins, pictures etc. To gain access go to: http://groups.msn.com/MDKC

A box will pop up asking for your name etc. there is a button that says get a passport, simply click that and it will walk you through the process, it is very easy. Once that is filled out you will be told that this is a members only area and you must apply to the room monitor to be accepted. You may choose any nickname you like, but in the box that says messages you must give your real name so you can be verified as a MDKC member. Once you do that, the room monitor will allow you access to the room. Please remember your passport name and password. Please be patient.

We will set up a test day and have an official chat.
