AM/CAN Ch Aslan's Celestial Overture JC, eight-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback, Cass, took Best in Veteran Sweepstakes at the Old Dominion Kennel Club Dog Show in Millwood VA on October 1, 2006 under Judge Mr. John Arvin. A short time later Cass's son Ch J'Bata Aslan Maika Makala JC received Best of Opposite Sex under Judge Mrs Betty Orseno from a total entry of 50 in the breed classes. Both Cass and Maika are owned and shown by Cindy Baker.
Welcome to Cindy Baker's new Herding dog (with a capital H) Border Collie, Diva. Diva is doing her best imitation of a hound, but just can't resist an occasional go at organizing the Ridgeback pack. She was bred by Susan Rhoades of Keepstone Farm in Berryville VA.
Diva and Cindy successfully competed in their first herding trial as partners at Keepstone Farm in Berryville VA on October 28 & 29. They completed two AHBA titles - Herding Trial Arena Dog Level One with Sheep (HTADI-s) and Herding Trial Dog Level One with Sheep (HTDI-s). They received four qualfying scores and three competition placements, 6th, 4th, and 3rd.
Congratulations to Jennifer Williams and her Australian Cattle Dog, Huckleberry, for calmly and efficiently completing the requirements for their American Herding Breed Association (AHBA) title of Junior Herding Dog with Sheep (JHD-s) at Keepstone Farm, Berryville, VA on October 28 & 29.
Cheers for Helene Keefer and her Australian Shepherd, Dazzle, for the completion of their very first AHBA title of Herding Capability Test with Sheep (HCT-s) at Keepstone Farm October 28 & 29. Three very serious leg operations and time taken to heal couldn't dull Dazzle's enthusiasm for bossing those sheep. Job well done.
